The soaring temperatures, humidity and heat drain out the body. Summers are the time when the water content of the body needs to be replenished on a regular basis. It is always advisable to drink at least 8 glasses of water. But you need something more than water in summers to beat the loos of energy along with water. Here we bring you some of the hydrating fruits and veggies to replenish your body with all the lost hydration and energy. What more? It tastes great too. So stay hydrated with these healthy snacks!

Musk Melon

Musk Melon are 90% water and less than 1% fat. It provides extreme shot of hydration with minimal addition of calories to your diet. It is also a rich source of vitamin c which will take care of wear and tear of your body. It has 9% carbs content that helps replenish the lost energy due to unforgiving sun in summers. The fruit with mild sweet taste makes an excellent snack during summers to keep you fresh and fit.

Bananas

Ever wonder why it is advised to have banana post a workout session? Well it isn’t just a remarkable source of energy, but also boast of 74% water content. Moreover, it is extremely rich in Potassium. Potassium is one of the key electrolytes of the body that is needed to maintain water balance in the body. Dehydration causes an imbalance of electrolytes in body and a banana is excellent way to restore that.

Lettuce

This pale green crunchy ingredient of your salad boasts of 96% water content. So eating a bowlful of lettuce seems to be as good as gulping an equivalent quantity of water. The fibres in the lettuce would also keep the satiety levels high making it an excellent diet snack.

Cucumber

Water constitutes nearly 96% of cucumber content.
