Liposuction is a surgical technique that improves the body’s contour by removing excess fat from deposits located between the skin and muscle. Liposuction involves the use of a small stainless steel tube, called a cannula. The cannula is connected to a powerful suction pump and inserted into the fat through small incisions in the skin. Fat removal is accomplished as the suction cannula creates tiny tunnels through the fatty layers. After surgery, these tiny tunnels collapse and thus result in an improved body contour. By using a high vacuum device, the surgeon can suction fat from the legs, buttocks, hips, abdomen, back, arms, face and neck. Now there is a new advanced technique where we take the help of ultrasound energy.

Body Fat
Liquefy fat by Ultrasound Energy

The ultrasound liposuction is a new technique which helps to liquefy fat by application of ultrasound energy through another cannula. This is also done under local or general anaesthesia & the patient stays in hospital for 1-2 days. This is also called vaser liposuction & has additional benefits of less blood loss & better skin retraction or absorption after the procedure. This technique may be particularly helpful in removing fat from the upper abdomen, sides, and back.

Body Wrap
Treated area is firmly wrapped after procedure

After the procedure, the area of the body that was treated is firmly wrapped to help reduce swelling, bruising, and pain. Elastic bandages and tape, or another type of firm-fitting garment may be used, depending on which part of the body was treated. You may have to wear the compression garment or wrap for 3 to 4 weeks. Expect some bruising and swelling for the first 7 to 10 days. Liposuction permanently removes fat cells from the body. It can alter the shape of a body. However, the patient should lead a healthy lifestyle after the operation by taking balanced diet & doing exercise to maintain the result. The results are usually good in selected patients.
