It was a star studded affair for the Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2018. Stars came shooting down on the ramps to walk for some amazing designers. Lets have a look at some Showstoppers dazzling the ramp.
Disha Patani
Disha Patani walked the runway in pale ruffled gown for Shriya Bhupal’s ‘Shriya Som’. The collection ‘Summer Love’, boasts of tier dresses, glamorous fringes, sparkling jackets and ruffled gowns.
Rahul Khanna
Rahul Khanna was the epitome of elegance in white minimalistic all white from Narendra Kumar Ahmed. The collection named ‘The Fake Show’ was largely monochrome.
Diana Penty
Diana Penty glided the ramp for Punit Balana in a three layered skirt with geometrical prints accompanied by embellished shrug from Rose Garden collection of the designer.
Saif Ali Khan
Nawaab Saif Ali Khan dazzled at the runway in an asymmetrical high neck black kurta teamed up with trousers for the designer duo Shantanu Nikhil. The collection, ‘Tribe: The India Story’ was a narration of Indian philosophy of ‘valour and egalitarianism’. It aims to promote gender neutrality as it caters to both genders equally. The jewellery wasn’t just an accessory, but incorporated in clothes as a part of design. Pleats, bold colour blocking, aged textures spread across black and whites with dramatic accents added to the sharp tailored persona of the line.
Kiara Advani
Kiara Advani walked the ramp for Julie Shah in an exquisite black floral lehenga from designer’s ‘Gulab Baug’ collection.
Kartik Aaryan
Pyaar Ka Punchnaama actor Kartik Aaryan walked the runway for designer Amit Wadhwa in layered pastel outfit.
Swara Bhaskar
Swara Bhaskar walked the ramp in dove grey kurta and pants with embroidered cover for the Shaila Khubchandani’s Crow. The collection titled Fundamental Fragments used functional fabrics like Khadi, Linen and Cotton Jamdaani.
Saiyami Kher
Saiyami Kher bought the gypsi girl vibe on runway for Nishka Lulla Mehra in bright bubblegum pink skirt, sequined crop top with a cross body sling bag from Caprese. The collection features energetic line with bright colours, tassles, fringes and pompoms.
Bipasha Basu
Bipasha mesmerised in Reshma Kunhi’s slit top with elongated sleeves which were embellished with tassels and gold embroidery, paired with bright garnet red lehenga. The Lotus collection from designer used exquisite zari, thread work along with ruffles, tassels, metal accents and pleats on fabrics such as organza, tulle, silk and other specialised blends in rich tones like ultra violet, bold magenta, playful pinks, royal blue and luscious greens.
Nidhhi Agerwal
Nidhhi Agerwal walked the ramp for Shloka Sudhakar in a pink and navy blue skirt embellished with sequins and gemstones, paired with an embellished blouse. The collection titled ‘Jeannie’ provided a quirky twist to casual denims and amalgamated modern Indian silhouettes with wearable western textiles.
Malaika Arora
Malaika Arora glided the runway in a unique pant saree from an edgy collection named ‘Daze’ by Nancy Luharuwalla for Surat based brand ‘Label De Belle’.
Kangana Ranaut
‘Queen’ Kangana Ranaut took the centrestage as ‘fairytale muse’ for Shyamal and Bhumika. This ‘Wonderland’ collection by designer duo boasts of enthralling elements with intricate embroidery. Pastel colours with beads strung on tulle, delicate embroidery with flowing satin and quintessential saris in signature cutwork edges were the highs of collection.
Dia Mirza
Dia Mirza was all grace in a beautiful ochre-gold embroidered saree, matching it with a ruby red blouse in full sleeves for Sanjukta Dutta. The collection inspired by North-East tradition, showcases an exquisite blend of culture and art.
Sania Mirza
Tennis Star Sania Mirza walked the ramp in soft pink embellished lehenga for Anushree Reddy. The collection titled ‘Pink- the navy blue of India’ used organzas, mulmul, chiffon, khadi and fine silk in all possible pinks in the spectrum.
Tisca Chopra
Tisca Chopra twirled at ramp in pastel floral skirt, blouse and a sheer jacket with the uber summery vibe for designer duo Vineet Rahul. The collection used traditional Indian weaves like Chanderi, Kota, Linen, and Mulmul in pastel and neutral hues.
Karisma Kapoor
Gorgeous Karisma Kapoor walked the runway in an embroidered crop top with a pastel lehenga for the label Aarbee by Ravi Bhalotia. The collection boasted of embroidered flared kurtas, lehengas and overlays in pastels and metallic.
Pooja Hegde
Pooja Hegde looked pretty in Ivory white Gown with sheer detailing and plunging neckline from Cinco collection by designer Riddhi Mehra. The collection is an amalgamation of five different cultures- Islamic, Indian, Spanish, French and Chinese.
Tamannah Bhatia
Bahubali star Tamannah Bhatia twirled on runway for Ashwini Reddy in a bright red skirt with gold embellishments, riffled cold shoulder blouse with intricate embroidery and champagne dupatta. The collection named ‘Tilottama’ was inspired by celestial beauty of Apsaras. Textures and mix of fabrics such as organza, brocade, silk, lycra, woven textiles, organza, nets and chiffon gave flair to delicate, yet traditional designs.
Vaani Kapoor
Vaani Kapoor walked the runway as showstopper for Agami by Neha Agarwal for her collection ‘Lost in the Woods’. The collection a colour story with a mix of pastel hues embellished with deeper tones.
Aditi Rao Hydari
Padmavat actor Aditi Rao Hydari walked the runway looking nothing less than royalty in Payal Singhal’s Saira collection. The collection brings various Islamic sensibilities in luxurious fabrics with intricate, antique embroidery, jaali and filigree work. Aditi wore an intricately embroidered gold lehenga with mutes rose gold embellishments.
Shilpa Shetty
Shilpa Shetty walked the ramp in an embroidered Ivory white lehenga with scalloped hemline and blouse along with ruffled dupatta from designer Jayanti Reddy’s ‘This One Summer’ Collection.
Karan Singh Grover
Karan Singh Grover walked the ramp for brand Raamz. The actor donned a bright peach suit accessorized with an oversized red feather. The collection blended geometric patterns in Bohemian designs.
